T-Mobile myTouch 4G SlideAfter teasing us with a Facebook update earlier today, it looks like T-Mobile has got an important announcement to make today. And if you haven’t guessed it already – yes, it’s the official announcement of the T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide. And if you think it’s the same as the regular myTouch 4G just that it features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, you’re wrong. T-Mobile has also made some significant improvements to the phone, mostly in the camera department.

T-Mobile calls the camera on the myTouch 4G Slide to be the most advanced camera of any smartphone. It features zero shutter lag, backside illuminated sensor, and additional premium digital camera features that offer consumers a viable replacement for their compact digital cameras. The camera has an 8-megapixel sensor, dual LED flash, improved low-light performance, wide aperture lens, SweepShot (for capturing panoramic images), ClearShot HDR (for capturing objects in bright settings so your photos are not affected by high-contrast lighting) and BurstShot mode for capturing multiple photos with just one click.

Other specs of the myTouch 4G Slide are: a 3.7″ WVGA Super LCD display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with HTC Sense 3.0, a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, HSPA+ 4G support, a front facing video camera (in addition to its 8-megapixel rear shooter), and it comes preloaded with apps such as T-Mobile TV, Netflix and YouTube for you to take advantage of your 4G connection. It will be available in black and khaki colors in July, for $199.99 with a 2-year plan and a $50 mail-in-rebate. Watch a video demonstration of its camera:
