Are you part of the LG Optimus smartphone brigade? If you have answered in the affirmative, then we are pleased to announce that LG has rolled out their very own Remote Call services for the range of Optimus smartphones. This remote customer care service will comprise of a pre-loaded Remote Call application and the LG FOTA (Firmware Over-the-Air) system, letting Optimus smartphone owners all over the world enjoy what used to be the domain of South Korean owners only. This move will strategically place LG as the first mobile phone manufacturer to offer remote maintenance services in order to help customers diagnose software problems as well as make it a snap when it comes to distributing software upgrades directly to customers’ handsets.

It will require the help of a 3G or Wi-Fi network though, and that would make the LG Customer Information Center (CIC) redundant whenever you come head to head with a problem on your Optimus smartphone.

Premium Optimus smartphones such as the LG Optimus 2X, the LG Optimus Black and the LG Optimus 3D will benefit from the availability of the pre-loaded “Remote Call” application. Those living in Europe, the Asia Pacific region and South and Central America will be able to get this update sometime in the second half of 2011.
