Angry Birds mooncakes spotted at Hong Kong

You know that your company’s icon has “made it” when it starts to appear as bootlegged merchandise across the globe – while others decide to literally make a meal out of it – case in point, Angry Birds mooncakes that were unveiled in Hong Kong yesterday. A restaurant chain in Hong Kong has taken the legitimate route however, where it struck a deal with Rovio, the creator of Angry Birds, to turn those frowning avian friends into a delectable piece of pastry that is traditionally eaten to mark the Chinese mid-autumn festival.

You will find less variety in the flavors compared to the types of birds that the game has – we’re looking at just a couple of flavors – chocolate and mango and pomelo, where each pair will retail for around $4.90. No idea on how much of a cut Rovio makes from each purchase though.
