Nokia Windows Phone coming to US in 2012?

Somebody dropped a tip that laid claim to Nokia releasing their first Windows Phone smartphone in the US from 2012 onwards, although it is estimated that the first handset will roll out at Nokia World this coming October 26th. Interestingly enough, this is said to be an European launch, so folks living Stateside will have to wait until next year – presumably after Mobile World Congress 2012 that is happening in late February till early March in Barcelona.

This would clearly place a US launch around seven months away, and it could ultimately influence the decision that potential purchasers might make when it comes to picking a handset – especially when the Christmas shopping season is set to happen in just a couple of months’ time, and HTC and Samsung are clearly not going to let up on the pressure by releasing newer phones along the way.

Nokia certainly has a long way to go before they are able to retain their dominance in the mobile market back in the days of yore, and while we hope that they will not end up as extinct anytime soon, perhaps it would be prudent if the Finnish company could do something more to invoke confidence in their wares and delivery schedules. What about you – will you rock to Nokia for your new smartphone?
