“Near final” build of iOS reportedly in carrier testing

There has been word that iOS 5 is reaching its final build, and the rumors are suggesting that selected carriers have been given the “near final” build of iOS 5 for testing. We’re not sure if this implies that the iPhone 5 is nearing as well, but for those who are more interested in iOS 5, it appears that there are several key features in iOS 5 that are reportedly being tested.

For starters Nuance, the speech-to-text feature that many believed would make its way into iOS 5 is reportedly working, and according to 9to5 Mac’s source, it works similarly to Android’s speech-to-text feature and it’s quick, polished and rather accurate.

The second feature reportedly tested is FaceTime over 3G. Apparently the testers have been told that this is a high-priority feature. With numerous complaints over how FaceTime should work over 3G, we guess Apple is taking user feedback pretty seriously. I don’t know about you, but I’m not sure which I am more excited for – Nuance or FaceTime over 3G!
