According to Toni Johansson of Swedish mobile blog, winMobile.se, it seems that his deal with Microsoft which was close to completion, was dropped due to a signature in his email, which basically stated that it was sent from his iPhone. This is the default signature that iPhone users are probably familiar with when sending emails and we don’t really think much about it, but apparently Microsoft took it rather personally.

Toni was close to completing a deal with Microsoft where they would sponsor a blog redesign for his website. The email was sent with his iPhone where he was confirming lunch with a Microsoft employee to finalize the details of the deal. He claims that this is not just a response of a Microsoft employee, but rather it echoed the sentiments of Microsoft itself.

Now with the deal falling through, Toni has blogged that he will be shutting down winMobile.se, although we can’t be sure if he’s shutting it down due to lack of funding or if it was because he decided that Microsoft wasn’t worth his time and efforts anymore. Microsoft has yet to comment about this incident, which leaves this pretty much as a “he says, she says” situation. You can check out Toni’s last post here (which is in Swedish) and come to your own conclusions.
