Motorola gets official with the Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition, where the former will be powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, accompanied by 1GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory, a 10.1″ display while running on Android 3.2 Honeycomb. There will be a camera at the front (a 1.3-megapixel shooter) to handle all those video calls of yours, while a rear facing camera takes far more decent photos at 5-megapixels. Of course, don’t forget to throw in Motorola’s new Splash-guard protection and you’re good to go.

As for the Xoom 2 Media Edition, most of the specifications will remain the same as that of the vanilla Xoom 2, although you get a slightly smaller 8.2″ screen size with Gorilla Glass protection. It is touted to deliver a 20% improvement over the original Xoom where graphics department, not to mention boasting a 178-degree viewing angle so that it will be suitable for media consumption – that is, sharing your latest downloaded video with others while you’re on a long journey.

It seems that both tablets will be making their way across the UK and Ireland first with no mention on when other markets will get a hold of it. [Press Release]
