Most of us would find it an honor to name a baby on behalf of a friend or another family member, but clearly there is one couple who is obviously from the Internet generation who thinks otherwise. This particular couple decided to let the world name their baby – by putting up a Facebook poll. Hailing from Illinois, this was not the case originally as they had already decided on the name Cooper for their upcoming bundle of joy – a boy. However, their plans were unraveled as the doctor revealed that the stork is going to bring a girl to their lives, and Dave and Lindsey Meske then talked things over, before deciding on the power of Facebook to name their baby.

Last fall, the Meskes set up an online poll titled, “Name My Child”, where family, friends, and strangers are able to share their thoughts on a new name for the baby girl, and currently, the choices have been narrowed down to Addilyne, Madelyn, Emily, or McKenna. Madelyn Rae Meske won in the end, being born just a few days ago on January 31, beating “Emily” by a mere 45 votes. More exciting than the US Presidential race, no?
