Logitech has just announced their ConferenceCam, which will spearhead a spanking new product category for unified communications (UC) and Web conferencing. This all-in-one audio and video capable ConferenceCam boasts of being the first communications tool which merges a full HD webcam alongside a high-quality, omni-directional full-duplex speakerphone. It plugs into your computer or notebook via USB, and will pave the way for small groups to collaborate in conference rooms, closed offices or shared work spaces. This full fledged Full HD webcam will feature motorized pan, tilt and zoom capabilities, where you can control it from a control pad on the device or using a convenient remote control. In addition, the control pad or the remote will be able to answer calls, end calls, adjust the volume and mute the microphone.

Apart from that, the Logitech ConferenceCam has also been optimized for Microsoft Lync and Skype Certified, enabling the BCC950 ConferenceCam to play nice with majority of UC and video platforms out there. To be more specific, it has a wide 78-degree field of view and 180-degree video pan, support for 1080p, 30fps HD through plug-and-play UVC H.264 video technology, and a speakerphone. The Logitech BCC950 ConferenceCam is touted to arrive from May onwards for $249.99 a pop. [Press Release]
