Nokia Lumia 710, 800 and 900 to get tethering as well

Nokia Lumia 900Earlier today we reported about the Nokia Lumia 610 having the ability to tether – something that the “higher-end” Lumia 710 and Lumia 800 phones can’t do. Well it looks like it was just an oversight on Nokia’s part. According to a new Q&A post on the Nokia web page, those aforementioned phones will have the option to tether in the future via a software update. It wasn’t mentioned when the update would be arriving, but it should be after Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh is released. The Nokia Lumia 900 will have tethering right out of the box.

For those of you who don’t know – tethering is basically the ability to turn your phone into a mobile hotspot, so you can share your data connection with WiFi-only devices. It is a pretty useful feature to especially when you’re usually in places with no WiFi to leech off, and you have a WiFi-only tablet or netbook you use to go online with. How many of you are looking forward to the tethering update on your Lumia phones?
