Wacom Intuos5It’s been awhile since Wacom introduced its last professional pen tablet the Intuos4, and now it looks like the company feels it’s time for a refresh. Wacom has just announced the introduction of the Intuos5 its next generation pen tablet for professional photographers, designers and artists who wish to take their digital content creation to the next level. In case you’re unfamiliar with the Intuos, it is basically a drawing surface and a stylus which acts as a pressure sensitive mouse that is mainly used by artists in the creation of digital artwork.

Improvements of the Intuos5 over the previous generation includes the support for multi-touch gesture input, an Express View display (which shows the current tablet settings onscreen), and (optional) wireless capabilities for convenience and comfort. Wacom’s trademark pressure and tilt sensitive pen is, of course, present as well. Carried on from the previous version, the Intuos5 also features customizable ExpressKeys (six on the smaller variants and eight on the medium and large sizes) and the Touch Ring, with a four-function toggle. The Intuos5 is available now, with prices ranging from $229 to $469.
