wacom-msThe way we interact with our devices have certainly changed a whole lot, moving far beyond the simple mouse and keyboard combination as touch has taken on a very prominent role to boot. At Microsoft’s BUILD 2016, the new Windows Ink was introduced, being a platform of applications and features which have been optimized for pen input. It seems that Microsoft will also be working alongside Wacom so that their synergy will end up with what they deem to be the “ultimate stylus” – which will play nice with any machine that runs on Windows 10 – which number at 270 million and growing.

This particular partnership will make use of Microsoft’s new Windows Pen Protocol, which will hopefully be a great start from Wacom who has churned out their fair share of tablets in the past. In addition, we do look forward to a greater collection of universal pens from different manufacturers when the Windows 10 Anniversary update arrives later this summer.

After all, over 70% of people already spend more than an hour each day with a pen, and productivity will certainly increase through the incorporation of writing into the computing experience. Such a pen is tipped to be available at retailers like Best Buy later this holiday season, although the exact release date and pricing details remain to be determined. [Press Release]
