The Sony Xperia ion was launched back in CES 2012 in January this year, and was available for pre-order shortly after CES was over. Well, since then, very little else was known about the Sony Xperia ion as the smartphone laid low for quite some time, until it is back in the limelight yet again after being certified by the GCF (Global Certification Forum). This might be a hint that Sony Mobile is at long last, in the final furlong to prepare the Xperia ion for a mass market release. Hopefully the Sony Xperia ion will be able to live up to the expectations of the market when it finally arrives, and we will continue to keep close tabs on future developments of this handset, so stay tuned! Considering how HTC and Nokia have already rolled out their big hitters, it would bode well for Sony to keep up with the Joneses.
