PlayOn has just announced the availability of HBO GO support, where the production release of My Media is also part of their revamped free PlayOn Lite product. If you have never heard of PlayOn Lite, that is because this is the lesser-known free version of PlayOn which will continue to function just fine once the 14-day PlayOn Premium trial has expired. Just what does PlayOn do? For starters, it allows you to transform your computer into a media server which will be able to serve up Internet as well as local PC video content to your Roku, Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, or Android/iOS mobile device.

Those who want more bang for your buck can always rely on PlayOn Premium, where your eyes will be treated to heavy-hitter online channels such as NBC.com, ABC.com, Fox.com, Hulu, Comedy Central, and Amazon VOD. As for PlayOn Lite, the name implies “lighter” offerings, including YouTube, Pandora, and your very own locally stashed away media, and just for a limited time only, HBO GO for free. I guess staying at home and getting entertained in the living room is ideal in such economically trying times.

Just so you know, HBO Go is also available on the Xbox 360 via Comcast. [Press Release]
