During the Blackberry Solutions Showcase in Orlando, RIM unveiled the Blackberry Music Gateway which allows users to stream music on their Blackberry devices onto another device simply by pairing it with either Bluetooth, or NFC which can be found in some Blackberry phones such as the Bold 9900. This would essentially turn Blackberry devices or even the Playbook tablet into a wireless remote control for wireless music playback. While ideally the Music Gateway should be linked to a music system, it has been reported that it would also be compatible with car stereos as well. Now if this sounds like a great device but you don’t own a Blackberry, fret not as RIM claims that non-Blackberry devices will also be compatible with the Music Gateway thanks to its 3.5mm audio jack that will allow the connection of other smartphones and media players. The Blackberry Music Gateway is expected to be made available this June for $49.99. So, anyone planning on getting their hands on this?
