xbox360

There were rumors a few days back about how Microsoft was in the works of offering a 2-year subscription for an X-box 360 and Kinect bundle. The deal allegedly entailed a $99 initial payment followed by $15 a month for two years. Now apparently, Microsoft has confirmed the rumors and the bundle is available for purchase at Microsoft’s Stores. If you haven’t read the rumor last week, the bundle offered comes with a 4GB Xbox 360 console with Kinect along with a 2 year Xbox Live Gold contract.

The offer by Microsoft can be redeemed with the above online coupon. According to the directions listed on Microsoft’s website, if you would like to redeem the offer, you can bring the code 885370366266 to your local Microsoft Store, then you sign up for the 2 year subscription to Xbox Live Gold Membership at $14.99 per month and you will receive your 4GB Xbox 360 with Kinect for $99. The company has also added a clause stating that the bundle is part of a promotional offer and that it may terminate it at any time it sees fit.

With the introduction of this bundle, Microsoft is likely to have changed how consoles are marketed and sold. To purchase the same Xbox 360 along with Kinect without the offer, you would have to pay up an amount of $299. However with the addition of a 2 year long Xbox Live Gold contract, that adds another $120 to the mix so it brings the total up to $420. After a quick calculation with the two year contract and excluding the taxes that might be involved, the whole bundle will set you back $459 over two years. Of course we can’t be sure if many will mind the extra $39, but the safe money is that they won’t. What do you think about this latest and now official bundle from Microsoft?
