Sethi chose another writer named Kara, and she worked on her laptop at the same cafe, and slapped him a few times. He found that his productive time went from 38% to 98%. He attributed it to the social element, as opposed to the negative gratification, but still: that’s a lot more work! Also, she was a person that Sethi could bounce his ideas off of, kind of like a domanatrix-cum-editor. The 8 bucks an hour gig is unique for now, but there are a whole lot of of other people who could use the same service.
