I don’t know about you, but the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is really pushing the limits with its 5.5” display, and here we are with word of the Huawei Ascend Mate, a phablet that comes with a whopping 6.1” of viewing real estate that ought to send cameras clicking in its direction without second thoughts. Huawei Chariman Richard Yu showed off the Huawei Ascend Mate at a Huawei store in Guangzhou on Saturday, which would certainly send waves of ecstasy down the spines of fanboys alike, and with CES 2013 right around the corner, the kind of anticipation and excitement would have built up steadily to a crescendo by then.

A couple of weeks ago, Senior Vice President of Huawei, Yu Chengdong, already confirmed the existence of the Huawei Ascend Mate, and here are the rumors surrounding the Huawei Ascend Mate – a 6.1” Full HD display at 361PPI pixel density, a 1.8GHz quad-core processor and a 4000mAh battery, measuring all of a rather beastly 9.6mm thick. I wonder just what kind of battery life can you expect from this bad boy though, but hopefully it will be priced to move. Let’s wait patiently till its official debut at CES 2013.
