Intel has expressed interest in entering the mobile industry with its Medfield chips. So far there have been two Intel-powered devices released, both of which are smartphones, but could we be seeing an Intel-powered Android tablet? Perhaps we will, thanks to an FCC filing which revealed an Intel-powered Android device with its codename, Red Ridge. It is unclear that the moment who will be building this tablet, and what its specs will entail, but its FCC filing has revealed that it will come with Bluetooth, WiFi and NFC. Given that CES is nearly upon us, there is a good chance that Intel and their partner could be taking that opportunity to unveil this mysterious Red Ridge device. Assuming they do, it is likely that this Intel-powered tablet could feature the dual-core Medfield chipset that Intel is working on that is set for release in 2013. Either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more info, so check back with us at a later date for the details!
