Remember when we said that Blizzard would be announcing their next game at PAX East which will be taking place this week? While we’re still not 100% clear as to what Blizzard has planned for the event, what we do know is that the developer has confirmed that they will be showing off Diablo 3 on the console. According to a statement released by Blizzard, “Our action-packed single-player hands-on demo will showcase several key elements that make Diablo III on the PS3 so much fun, including a reimagined interface and inventory system, direct character control, updated camera, and bosses and monsters specifically tuned for console.”

Diablo 3 for the console was announced during Sony’s PlayStation 4 event, although this could hardly be called a surprise considering the numerous rumors that have been making their rounds in the past. The game will be exclusive to the console, meaning that those playing on the PC will not be able to play with their friends on the console. In a way it makes sense since Blizzard relies on Battle.net for PC, and Sony has their PSN. Could this be the “next game” that Blizzard’s Rob Pardo mentioned on Twitter? Or could we be looking at a possible Blizzard All-Star release announcement as well?
