Google is one company that certainly does not rest on their laurels, as evident by the revamping of the Gmail inbox. I am quite sure that many of us spend plenty of time in front of the computer these days, and you basically cannot survive without an email address these days. In fact, filtering through all the emails that come in can be rather time consuming, especially when you have friends who send you random stuff, deals and offers to keep track of, receipts, bills, and social notifications, which is why Google decided to introduce a spanking new inbox for Gmail on both desktop and mobile platforms.

Desktop users will find that the new inbox groups your mail into categories which will then appear as different tabs, where all you need to do after that is select the categories of your choice and you’re good to go. Customizing the new inbox is a snap, and in Gmail for Android 4.0+ and Gmail for iPhone and iPad apps, your Primary mail can be seen whenever you open the app, allowing you to navigate to other tabs in a jiffy. Expect the desktop, Android and iOS versions to arrive in a few weeks’ time. Watch the video above that was creatively done by the folks over at Google to get a better idea on how the new and revamped Gmail Inbox would work on both mobile as well as desktop fronts.
