nintendo-wii-u-whiteIt seems that Nintendo Wii U owners in Japan will be able to get their hands on a GamePad battery extension, along with a new Premium set. This was revealed by Nintendo Japan who announced their plans to launch a white Wii U 32GB Premium set come 13th of July for around $312.50. Nintendo Japan’s website also detailed that the GamePad would also be able to get a new battery extension which will provide gamers anywhere between 5 to 8 hours of usage. This is compared to the current GamePad whose current battery will provide gamers between 3 to 5 hours of use, although we guess depending on the user, mileage may vary.

The new 2,550mAh battery for the GamePad is expected to cost $30 and will be available from the 25th of July onwards. We’re not sure when these new options and battery pack will be making its way stateside, but for now it looks like Wii U owners in Japan might be able to enjoy it before the rest of us do.
