xperia-sola-jbIt was just a few days back when there was word going around concerning a report on stock Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware being ported over to the Sony Xperia U, and of course, there were other instances of different smartphones getting the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean treatment as well. Well, it seems that the Sony Xperia Sola will soon be on the receiving end of a Jelly Bean update, thanks to the presence of an unofficial port since there does not seem to be any word from Sony concerning an official update up till now.

All you Xperia Sola owners, you might want to drop a note and thank munjeni from xda-developers who has done all the hard work on your behalf, having ported over firmware build 6.2.A.0.400 from the Xperia P and Xperia go. Before you are able to install the ROM, you would first need to be in possession of an unlocked bootloader while running a stock Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich ROM. Having said that, you are able to install the Jelly Bean ROM from recovery.
