Nokia Reportedly Working On Phones With Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 SoC

Nokia_Sign_Copper_WideAs it stands, Windows Phone 8 devices are powered by dual-core processors, which on paper might make them look like a slouch compared to the quad-core powered Android devices, but then again the argument could be made that Windows Phone has been optimized and does not really need all that extra juice. Whatever the case is, if you’re looking for power when it comes to Windows Phone, Nokia might have something for you. According to several developer pages, it seems that Nokia has begun working on a Lumia device with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset. We’re not sure what device Nokia has planned, perhaps the rumored phablets that we heard about not too long ago, but in any case with Microsoft reportedly adding Full HD 1080p support to Windows Phone in the near future, and couple that with quad-core chipsets, at least on the hardware front Windows Phone might finally be catching up.
