Earlier on Monday, there were users who wanted to click on the trending topics as well as additional posts, where they received an error message that started off with “something is technically wrong.” Twitter mentioned, “Due to an error in a routine change, Twitter was not available from 1:08pm PDT to 1:33pm PDT. We rolled back the erroneous change as soon as we identified the issue.” I guess the phenomenal growth rate of Twitter since its inception in 2006 always has the shadow of downtime hanging over their heads, as they right now handle over 200 million users who in turn generate approximately 400 million tweets daily. Let’s hope that future downtimes will be kept to a minimum.
