Sometimes a game does not necessarily need a huge budget and a massive team to be good, although we guess it helps, and if you love indie games you might be pleased to learn that with the upcoming Xbox One, you could be seeing more indie games launch on the platform. This is thanks to a recent confirmation by Microsoft that basically revealed that soon developers will be able to self-publish their own games via the Xbox One console.Previously to publish games onto the Microsoft Xbox console, it required developers to go through a publisher. Microsoft then launched the indie games channel, but now we guess Microsoft is hoping to make it even easier for developers to publish their own games. According Microsoft’s Marc Whitten, “Our vision is that every person can be a creator. That every Xbox One can be used for development. That every game and experience can take advantage of all of the features of Xbox One and Xbox LIVE. This means self-publishing. This means Kinect, the cloud, achievements. This means great discoverability on Xbox LIVE. We’ll have more details on the program and the timeline at Gamescom in August.”
