A number of applications have been playing catch up with the release of iOS 7 as many developers have been updating their applications to make full use of the update. Netflix has rolled out an update to its iOS application that adds a nice improvement for those of you who are running iOS 7: the ability to watch HD videos in 1080p.

Being able to watch Full HD videos on Netflix’s mobile application has already been available for Android users for quite some time, but it’s now your turn if you happen to own an iOS device. In addition to being able to watch 1080p videos on your iOS device, the Netflix app also supports AirPlay streaming, which allows iOS 7 users to play content from their mobile devices to their Apple TV without needing to use AirPlay mirroring.

Netflix 5.0 is now available across iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices, although in order to gain HD video as well as AirPlay streaming, you’ll need to make sure your iOS device is running iOS 7.
