samsungIt seems that Samsung has been promising customers a lot of things these days, what with foldable displays come 2015, and rumors suggesting that flagship Samsung devices in 2014 will sport 16MP cameras, but what about display? As it stands Full HD 1080p resolutions are the standard of smartphones these days, at least when it comes to high-end devices, but could it be that one day we could look forward to 4K Ultra HD displays on our smartphones? Perhaps and according to Samsung, we can expect that in 2015 as well!

However that does not mean that in 2014 Samsung will be sitting on their laurels, nope. In fact in 2014, Samsung’s flagship devices are expected to pack WQHD displays, meaning that users can look forward to smartphones with a display resolution of 2,560×1,440, and assuming that the next Samsung device will feature a 5.25” display, that means that we are looking at a pixel density of 560ppi! Most of us probably might not notice the subtle differences in sharpness, but it will be a feature appreciate and marketed nonetheless. Other features of Samsung’s 2014 smartphones include 64-bit Exynos processors which we can only assume will debut in the Galaxy S5.

If you’re a Samsung fan, it looks like 2014 and 2015 will be exciting times for you guys, but at the same time don’t expect the competition to take it lying down, and it will definitely be interesting to see what other Android OEMs like HTC, Motorola, Sony, and LG will do in response to Samsung’s strategy.
