Windows 8 Threshold Could Bring Back Full Start Menu Experience [Rumor]

When Microsoft first introduced Windows 8, it thought it could do away with the beloved “Start” button, which apparently they were wrong as Windows customers showed just how much they missed the button through feedback of the software. Windows 8.1 brought back the Start button, but it still doesn’t offer the traditional Windows Start button experience we’ve all become accustomed to. It looks like Windows 8.2 may finally give us the Start button we’ve all been wanting in Windows 8.

The return of the traditional Start button is being rumored by Paul Thurrott, who happens to be a well-connected Microsoft blogger for Supersite for Windows. The update, which we learned is codenamed “Threshold,” could include the return of the traditional Start button as well as Modern UI apps being able to break free of the full-screen Modern UI interface and be able to run within their own window on the desktop view.

If this rumor turns out to be true, it could once again show the importance of customer feedback to Microsoft as they pretty much allowed its future customers dictate what kind of console they wanted prior to the Xbox One’s release. Let’s just hope whoever turns out to be their new CEO will keep this customer lovefest they’ve got going on.
