With a football World Cup scheduled to take place this summer, fans of the game are likely to look towards Electronic Arts to release a updated game to tie in with one of the world’s largest sporting events. EA is doing just that, today it announced 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, this game will be launched on Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 on April 15th in North America.

Calling it the most exciting FIFA title on previous generation consoles, EA says that this new title brings multiple improvements and innovations, including but not limited to 100 new animations. Some new features include improved ball physics, new penalty kicks, over-the-back headers and World Class Control, an entirely new control system that comes with additional dribbles and flicks, new passing animations and ground as well as outside of foot curling passes that open the door to more attacking options. Road to Rio de Janeiro is a new game mode in which players can compete online with any of the 203 national teams and progress across Brazil’s 12 host cities, the winners will be able to hoist the trophy at Estadio do Maracana in Rio. You might be wondering why this game isn’t being launched on last year’s new consoles, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the company simply says that its largest audience exists on previous generation consoles.
