lg-g2-review-01Good news LG G2 owners, it looks like AT&T has begun to push out the much awaited and highly anticipated Android 4.4 KitKat update rather unexpectedly! We have been hearing about how the LG G2 in other parts of the world have received their KitKat update, and we had to wonder just how long would those of us living stateside will have to wait until we receive ours? Interestingly there has not been much news or rumors surrounding AT&T’s release, so we guess it is something of a pleasant surprise when we found out that AT&T had announced that the Android 4.4 KitKat update would be available for LG G2 customers.

The update should be rolling out today but as is the case with most updates, we expect that the rollout will most likely be staggered, meaning that it will probably be released in phases so don’t worry if you haven’t received your update yet. According to AT&T, the update will bring about an improved user interface, improved battery efficiency, a boost in speed, Printing in the Cloud, and an improved Knock On in which they claim that responsiveness of the feature has been increased.  For those who can’t wait, you can head on over to your phone’s Settings, General, About phone, Software Update, Update Now to try and pull it manually. In the meantime LG has also released a video in which they compare the LG G2 running on Jelly Bean versus one running on KitKat. The differences are noticeable so you can check that out to get an idea of what to expect post-update.
