For BlackBerry its imperative that its global communications network is up and running, and that faults don’t hold up end users from getting their messages or emails, two things that most BB users care about the most. However, sometimes the network does suffer an outage, which leaves users stranded and generates a lot of criticism for the company. BlackBerry itself has confirmed that it has suffered a network outage affecting several countries in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as its home country, Canada.

In Canada, Rogers’ customers were the most affected by the outage. Rogers is Canada’s leading mobile operator. Earlier today the company as well as the carrier sent a memo to some customers describing that there had been a network outage and that BlackBerry was looking into the matter. It usually doesn’t take long for the company to figure out what has gone wrong, but in the past the network has remained down for extended periods of time as BlackBerry tried to get it back up as soon as possible.

The company has already said that it has identified a possible cause and that it has started working on a fix. BlackBerry doesn’t give any ultimatums as to when the network issue will be rectified.
