duke-nukem-3d-megaton-editionGeorge Broussard, the founder of 3D Realms and creator of Duke Nukem, recently suffered from a mild stroke. Thankfully, he is all right now, but thanks to the wonders of social media in the form of Twitter, he managed to tweet about it. Of course, he must have led his Twitter followers through a rollercoaster ride as he documented his complaints of neurological symptoms while expressing his belief that he could very well be experiencing a stroke at that point in time.

It took a few hours after his initial tweet when he gave an update, sharing with the world (or at least, anyone who bothered to follow his Twitter feed) concerning his current symptoms and different tests in a very emotional manner. After checking out his situation with a neurologist, Broussard confirmed that he did suffer from a cerebrovascular incident, which is a fancy name for stroke.

At the end of the day, it goes to show how early intervention and being alert enough to recognize the signs are crucial when it comes to making sure that you will be able to recover fully from a stroke. Our thoughts and prayers for a complete recovery for Broussard go out to him and his family in this current time.
