sony-slim-launch

Many companies livestream their events and press conferences to give a chance to folks who can’t be at the venue to take a look at what they announce. Most of us were already planning to watch Sony E3 2014 press conference from the comfort of our browser windows but Sony itself is offering a much better alternative. The company has announced today that fans will be able to watch Sony E3 2014 press conference live at more than 40 movie theaters in U.S. and Canada.

People who attend the PlayStation E3 Experience at their local movie theater, provided that its on the list of 40 theaters selected by Sony, will see an HD simulcast of the press conference. Attendees will also get to see 30 minutes of extra content which will include exclusive extended game footage and interviews with some of the “world’s biggest game developers.”

Sony also hints that it may even “cough up a few surprise gifts” for people who show up at the selected theatres. Obviously its all to entice people to shun the livestream and head out a theater. If you’ve got no pressing engagements on that day and are interested in what Sony has to say then it should really make for a nice day out, and who knows, you might even get some PlayStation-branded goodies!

Full list of the 40 movie theaters is available on the PlayStation Blog.
