ZeGo Open Source Multifunctional Delta Linear Robot


ZeGo happens to be an opensource multifunctional delta linear robot that relies on magnetic-based attachments to get the job done. In other words, this is a special kind of 3D printer of sorts that arrives at the same destination, albeit taking a slightly different route from what we are more or less used to. The brainchild of a certain Daniel Goncharov (who is one of the co-developer of ZeGo), the ZeGo will be able to transform into a 3D printer, engraver, entry level pick and place machine – and much more, in a twinkling of an eye.

It is currently being “made available” so to speak in a crowdfunding campaign, where should its efforts in successfully raising funds for the project be achieved, the ZeGo might eventually be sold for as little as $549 a pop, now how about that? The ZeGo boasts of multiple heads which allows it to play a multi-functional role that standard issue 3D printers are unable to do.

As for its capabilities, the ZeGo has a 360 in^3 maximum volume for the printed object, a top build speed of around 30mm/s, a top travel speed of approximately 220mm/s, a minimum layer resolution of around 70 microns, and will feature PLA material compatibility when it comes to 3D printing.
