Co-op games are fun, especially if you have a tight group of gamer friends that you can play with. If you’re looking for a game like that, Crytek might have something for you in the form of Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Edge. The game is basically a four-player co-op game that lets players play together to hunt boss-like monsters.

If you’re wondering why this sounds familiar, it’s because Turtle Rock Studios is doing something similar as well with Evolve, although in the case of Evolve, players will get the chance to play as the boss monster, so you won’t be fighting AI only, you will be fighting against an actual player who might turn out to be more skilled than you and your friends combined.

However Crytek believes that Hunt will stand out from the competition with its killer graphics, which will based on the company’s CryEngine game engine. In order to get the game out as soon as possible and to cut down on costs, Crytek will be removing single-player mode from the game and focus purely on co-op.

The game will be set in the 1800s and will have a Wild West-theme going on, so if you’re all about hunting monsters and playing as cowboys and/or cowgirls, then perhaps Crytek’s Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Edge will be a game you’ll want to keep an eye out for when it is released later this fall.
