BlackBerry_KhanBlackBerry and Porsche have had a working relationship over the past few years. We’ve seen both companies collaborate on mobile devices, like the Porsche Design P’9982 from back in 2013, which is why it is hardly a surprise to learn that BlackBerry could be working on a successor for 2014.

A couple of weeks ago we heard that BlackBerry had shown off a handful of new devices behind closed doors at their London event. One of the devices in question is the BlackBerry P’9983, which based on its name will most likely be another Porsche Design handset. Now according to the folks at CrackBerry, they have been digging around BlackBerry OS 10.3 when they discovered files that basically confirms the existence of the device.

The handset in the files has been referred to as the BlackBerry Khan, which is presumably its codename. For reference, the P’9982 was referred to as King. Apart from the image file they managed to pull which shows off its possible dual-camera setup, not much else is known about the BlackBerry Khan P’9983. The specs of the device remains a mystery for now and it is unclear as to which BlackBerry device it will be modelled after.

In any case Porsche Design devices tend to be extremely overpriced, so we doubt they were aimed at your regular consumer in mind. Either way we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more information regarding the device, so check back with us at a later date for the details.
