bbm wpIt was just yesterday that we brought you news on how BlackBerry has started to accept sign ups for BBM for Windows Phone beta, and it certainly did not take too long for BlackBerry to see all slots for the beta filled. Having said that, it is now closed to those who would like to sign up, as users have been redirected to register on a waiting list instead.

It is a pleasant bit of news, although not unexpected as well, considering that this has happened less than 24 hours after BlackBerry begun to accept signups for the BBM for Windows Phone beta. It remains a mystery as to the total number of folks who have been accepted into the beta test.

The BBM for Windows Phone app remains available in the Windows Phone Store to look at, but only those who have been selected to take part in the closed beta test will be eligible to download this particular app and install it. We have no idea as to the exact date of when the actual beta test will kick off, but hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later! After all, it is safe to say that this app has been a long time in coming.
