True Tone Flash Component For iPhone 6 Leaked [Rumor]

true tone flash leakedWith the iPhone 5s, not only did Apple introduce a 64-bit processor, a fingerprint sensor, but they also introduced a redesigned camera flash unit which they called “True Tone”. The idea is to make the flash on the iPhone seem less harsh and more “natural”. The design of the flash was pill-shaped which is why we were wondering if Apple had done away with the technology as the iPhone 6 leaks showed no such cutout.

Well as it turns out Apple could have simply redesigned the flash unit instead. According to recent component leaks by Chinese smartphone repair company, ElekWorld, it purportedly shows off the flash unit component that will be making its way to the iPhone 6, and sure enough its design seems to fit with the circular cutout we’ve seen in the iPhone 6’s rear shell leaked photos.

The component also shows off a button by the side which is widely believed to be the sleep/wake button. Once again this seems to corroborate earlier rumors that suggested that Apple could have repositioned the sleep/wake button to the right side of the phone. Typically it is found on the top right corner of the phone, but if the rumors about larger screens are true, accessing the button by the side makes more sense.

In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully Apple will announce something soon. Last we heard Apple could be announcing the new iPhone 6 on the 9th of September, which would be next, next week, so do check back with us then for the details (if there are any to be had)!
