When you take a look at the Chargeboard as it rests on its wheels, it might not look as though it is anything more than a regular skateboard. However, you will be pleased as punch to know that the Chargeboard is no ordinary skateboard, as it also functions as a portable power charger, not to mention double up as a boom box to boot. The skating community is always big on music, and whenever you see skaters gather, there is more often than not plenty of thumping music going on in the background, making the Chargeboard an ideal skateboard.
How does the Chargeboard work? It will harness all of the kinetic energy generated via its spinning wheels in order to charge devices, while the speakers that are located in its base will pump out music from your docked iPhone.
One does wonder, however, just how much skating do you need to do before it is able to generate an ample amount of juice? Bjorn van den Hout is the person behind the Chargeboard, where he claims that the pair of dynamos located in the in the rear axles will be able to generate 6V each, where this electricity will be converted back to a 5V current and stashed away to a powerbox, only to be used as and when required.
