LG Smartwatch For Verizon With SIM Capabilities Spotted At The FCC

LG-G-Watch-R-03So we know that LG has their own wearable in the form of the LG G Watch. Now there were earlier rumors that suggested that LG could be working on a variant with SIM card capabilities and that it might be headed for Verizon. Well if you like the idea of a smartwatch that does not need to depend on your phone for its connectivity, you could be getting your wish.

Thanks to a recent FCC sighting, it seems that a certain LG VC100 has been ousted. While the filing does not give away any of the device’s specs, what makes it interesting is its description where it has been described as a “smart watch + CDMA”, hinting that it could feature a built-in SIM card with CDMA support.

The watch has also been tipped to be headed for Verizon’s network, which coincidentally enough is a CDMA network. It is unclear if this upcoming smartwatch from LG is just a variant of the LG G Watch with support for SIM cards, or if it could be an entirely brand new device. There’s also no telling when the smartwatch will actually land on Verizon and when we might hear about it.

Either way we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more information, but what say you? Do you relish the idea of a smartwatch with SIM card capabilities, or would you rather not pay for an extra line?
