apple-iwatch-front-uiWe did mention that Tim Cook, the Apple CEO, has stated on how the iPhone 6’s release will trigger the “mother of all upgrades”, and only the passage of time will prove him to be wise and so future forward looking compared to the rest of the industry, or he was simply displaying misplaced enthusiasm and positivism. Having said that, Apple also did roll out a piece of wearable technology yesterday, which was the Apple Watch. What was interesting was this – there was no iWatch moniker attached to it, which proved to be quite a surprise to the industry, taking into consideration how Apple did register the iWatch name as a trademark in the likes of Japan, Russia and Mexico prior. However, things became even more curious when Tim Cook made a mention of the iWatch in an interview.

Sure, the difference might be minimal in nature, but in that interview, Cook mentioned that Apple created “over a million US jobs, between people we’ve hired ourselves, or people that are working for suppliers doing work on our behalf, or developers who are writing applications for iPhone and iPad and the Mac, and now, of course, as of today, the iWatch.”

Does this mean that there will be a device name change of sorts, or there is something else that Apple has kept under wraps, even until now? Only time will be able to tell.
