htc-nexus-9-2014-10-06-02If the rumors about the HTC Nexus 9 are to be believed, it seems that we can look forward to the tablet being announced on the 16th of October. The tablet was spotted recently at the FCC in which a diagram of the tablet was spotted showing off its possible design, which at the same time offered up an interesting aspect ratio.

Now thanks to a recent tweet from @upleaks (via Engadget), a possible leaked image of the upcoming Nexus 9 has surfaced, which you can see in the image above. As you can tell, the tablet’s design seems to be in line with the FCC’s diagram, and it does look like it could sport an interesting aspect ratio as it looks more square-ish rather than rectangular-ish like most tablets. We are sort of reminded of the BlackBerry Passport.

That being said apart from the leaked image of the tablet, we’re still pretty much in the dark regarding the tablet’s specs. Right now we only have rumors to base the specs on which includes an 8.9-inch QHD display, an NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor under the hood with 4GB of RAM, an 8MP rear-facing camera, and it will also be accompanied by a keyboard accessory which is half Surface Type Cover and half iPad Smart Cover.

In any case we will be keeping our eyes peeled for an official announcement or invite by HTC/Google to their Nexus event, so do check back with us at a later date for the details! In the meantime what do you guys think of the design? Are you digging it so far?
