When it comes to tablets, the folks over at ASUS do have some experience in rolling out some pretty sturdy offerings in the past, and it is the solid Nexus range that would come to mind for most of us out there. Well, there was an unannounced 10” Android-powered tablet from the Taiwanese company that appeared at European retail sites last month, and it is nice to see ASUS do the prim and proper introduction of the tablet at last with the ASUS MeMO Pad 10 ME103K.

As the name of the model itself implies, the MeMO Pad 10 ME103K will come with a 10” display at 1,280 x 800 pixel resolution, run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, as well as having Android 4.4 KitKat as the operating system of choice. No idea on when will Android 5.0 Lollipop make an appearance though, if ever, but having KitKat ought to satiate most people – for the moment. This particular model does seem to be slated to be a low cost, entry level device compared to the more expensive tablets from the likes of Apple and Samsung, and there is always such a market worth catering to.

So far, European stores have listed prices that remain within the 199 Euros range, which do point to the possibility of it selling for approximately $199 Stateside. The 10” IPS display will feature wide viewing angles, is able to support 10-finger multi-touch input, has 1GB RAM, between 8GB and 32GB of internal memory which can be further expanded via a microSD memory card slot, a 2MP shooter at the back with a VGA front-facing camera, and a 19Wh battery for up to 9.5 hours of run time. Connectivity options include 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Miracast wireless display, and GPS.
