If there is a feature that the Sony Xperia Z3 has that allows it to stand out amongst most of the competition, it would be that it is both water and dust resistant, but what about heat resistant? Would you be able to cook a Sony Xperia Z3 and have it survive? Well that’s what some folks tried to find out.

In the video above, you will see the Sony Xperia Z3 being folded into the patty of a burger and grilled, and if you’re thinking that it’s dangerous, well you’d be right as the battery in the photo could have easily overheated and exploded, although interestingly enough it seemed that despite being placed over a grill, phone managed to survive.

Not only did it not explode, but it continued to function. The touchscreen appeared to be responsive, albeit slightly greasy from the burger (which still looked a tad uncooked in the middle, if anyone was wondering). We don’t suggest that you try this at home, but it’s good to know that the phone is at least that durable.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the phone being abused. It wasn’t too long ago that the sensitivity of the phone’s display was tested by having a knife play a round on Fruit Ninja in which the phone was left relatively unscathed. So, will this convince you that the Xperia Z3 is the next phone you should consider?
