shield-lollipopWhile Motorola has kept to their word by rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop extremely early (relatively speaking compared to the other smartphone manufacturers, of course) on their Moto G smartphones, not to mention the LG G3 too, being on the receiving end of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update later this week, it is no surprise then to hear that NVIDIA’s Shield tablet will get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update as well this coming November 18th.

That would be less than a week to go, which means there is not much waiting time left to do, although hardcore fans who want nothing but the latest and the greatest might find it to be rather challenging and difficult in staving off the next few days’ worth of waiting.

Just to recap, the NVIDIA Shield tablet happens to be an 8” Android-powered tablet that will feature an NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, where it places a strong emphasis on gaming. It will also be accompanied by a Full HD display and stereo front-facing speakers, sporting a starting price of $299 – which might make some others turn to consoles for their gaming fix instead. Well, the Shield tablet will soon be up to date with the Android 5.0 Lollipop mobile operating system version, ensuring that it remains right at the cutting edge of things. Let us hope it remains that way in time to come, too. [Press Release]
