It has been over a week since Google announced that it was rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop. Obviously the first crop of devices to receive this new update would have been the company’s own Nexus smartphones and tablets. Even though the update was delayed because of the bug it is finally starting to roll out, while Motorola beat Google to the punch by releasing it first for unlocked Moto G handsets. It has just been announced that the Sprint Nexus 5 Android 5.0 Lollipop update has been released.

This certainly means what you think it means. Starting today, Sprint subscribers who own a Nexus 5 will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.

While other carriers haven’t made the official announcement as yet it shouldn’t take too long now that Lollipop has been rolled out. One can bet that they’ll also be making similar announcements in the very near future.

The build being rolled out today carries software version LRX210 which dates back to October 21st. This means that no major changes have been made over the past couple of weeks save for any bug fixes. As you can imagine, the update is going to be rolled out in stages, which means it will take some time before it goes live across all regions.

Android 5.0 Lollipop for Sprint Nexus 5 is coming out over-the-air. Keep an eye on that notification drawer because a notification will pop up when the update lands on your device.
