nexus2cee_energizer_thumbWhen it comes to smartphones, there are several big name brands out there that many associate with smartphones, such as Apple, Samsung, LG, HTC, Motorola, Sony, and so on. Then there also other brands which some might not necessarily associate with smartphones, such as Casio and CAT, and if you’re looking to add another brand to that list, how about Energizer?

Yup, the same company responsible for making batteries is not getting into the smartphone business, although technically this is a phone manufactured by a company called DDM but with the Energizer brand and logo slapped onto it. Similar to Casio and CAT’s offerings, the Energizer series of smartphones will be of the rugged type.

The exact specs of these phones remains unknown, but as you can see in the image above, these phones will be waterproof, dustproof, and will be able to withstand drops, and unsurprisingly and perhaps to capitalize on Energizer’s battery image, the phone is also said to have a long-life battery.

Exactly how long-life we are talking about remains to be seen, but either way the company will be showing off these new phones at CES 2015 which kicks off next week, so do check back with us then for the details.
