It was a couple of weeks back when we first heard about the hack at Sony Pictures Entertainment. At that point it was reported that a lot of sensitive data had been stolen during the cyberattack. Subsequent leaks have shown that the assumption was correct to say the least. Email conversations between top executives, passwords, unreleased movies and a lot more became public as hackers continued leaking data. It is now being reported that the next Bond film SPECTRE’s script has also been leaked online.
According to Reuters an early version of the script for SPECTRE, the next installment in the James Bond franchise, was leaked after hackers attacked computer systems at Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Producers of the film found out about this on Saturday morning, it confirmed in a statement that “third parties who have received the stolen screenplay may seek to publish it or its contents,” while reminding that the script is protected by U.K. copyright laws.
It was later rumored that because of this leak Sony had stopped production on the film but a spokesman got in touch with the scribe and clarified that productions are “still moving forward.”
Starring Daniel Craig as 007, SPECTRE is due to be released on November 6th, 2015. Filming has already begun following the cast and title unveiling by director Sam Mendes and producer Barbara Broccoli.
