A few days ago a leaked trailer of Capcom’s upcoming Street Fighter V made its way onto the internet. Based on the trailer, it looked like the game was going to be an exclusive to the Sony PlayStation 4 console and the PC, with no mention of other consoles like the Xbox One. Well if you were hoping that this was a timed exclusive, you’re out of luck.

Capcom has officially taken the wraps off the game over the weekend and it was revealed that the PlayStation 4 will be the only console the game will appear on, as confirmed by Sony’s Adam Boyes. The game’s producer Yoshinori Ono also confirmed this and was quoted as saying, “It was clear, to match the passion of Street Fighter fans around the world, we need the combined strength of both Capcom and PlayStation.”

That being said there is good news for gamers. Now typically games released on the PC and console tend to be separate from one another. However the good news is that with Street Fighter V, the game will feature cross-platform play meaning that gamers on the PC will be able to challenge gamers who play on the console, and vice versa.

Unfortunately apart from that tidbit, not much else is known about the upcoming game, like when will it be released, but hopefully we will learn more in the future. In the meantime you can check out the announcement trailer and gameplay trailer in the videos above.
